Longines bought the majority interest in Record in 1961, though the brand continued to operate independently until production ceased around 1991, undone by the quartz crisis. During the Longines era, watches appeared with a double \"Record Longines\" signature and increasingly used ETA calibres, and Record effectively served as a more affordable second brand within the Longines group until it was phased out. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThis watch fits squarely into this ownership period. It has a few little scratches but on the whole is in amazing condition. It screams 1970s and would make a real talking piece in just about any circle. It keeps great time though it has not been serviced. It comes on a Longines strap, which is probably original and still has the protective sticker on the caseback.
