This handsome Longines Conquest, reference 1014, dates from 1974 according to the accompanying Longines archive extract, which confirms its production year and specification directly from the manufacturer's records.

The watch is fitted with a striking tonneau-style case (actually more of a square), a departure from the more common round Conquest models of the era, giving it a distinctive mid-century architectural presence on the wrist. The dial is a rich blue, offering excellent contrast against the applied hour markers and hands. The watch comes with a Longines leather strap (possibly original) and a Longines buckle. Power comes from the manual-wind calibre 6952, a robust Longines movement typical of the period. Complete with archive extract, this piece offers strong provenance for collectors.

Condition

This is a great little vintage classic from Longines. It's incredibly light and just looks great on the wrist. The movement is running beautifully and keeping excellent time while the Longines signed strap, crown and buckle add to the 1970s vibe. The extract from the archives is the icing on the vintage cake.

There is wear to the used leather strap, which is probably original to the watch, but it is still wearable. There are also tiny scratches to the dial, small abrasions and micro-cracks to the edge of the crystal - this can be seen in the images. Please be aware of these minor detractions if buying the watch.
